Berlin Festival Line Up Announced

On 10th and 11th September 2010, Berlin Festival will be hosted at Tempelhof Airport for the fifth time around. The airport grounds, with a capacity of around 20,000, will be witness to the national and international pop world, which will be presented on three stages, and via our almost legendary Mobile Disko.

Among the first acts, we are proud to announce Karin Dreijer Anderson's dark and brooding Knife side project Fever Ray, who will play her only performance in 2010 at Berlin Festival. Also confirmed is LCD Soundsystem, with all our efforts to present James Murphy's highly influential project at a festival in Berlin have finally been fruitful.

In addition on Friday 10th of September, Christoph Ellinghaus' label City Slang will curate the “20 Years of City Slang Stage.” City Slang ranks amongst the most influential German indie labels. In order to celebrate two decades of musical excess, label mates Caribou, Herman Düne, Port O'Brien and many more will join each other on stage for the City Slang Special. More birthday party guests will be announced shortly.

Hold on, there's even more, Boysnoize Records have been fantastically grateful towards their artists when it comes to creative freedom. Saturday's line-up (11th of September) is proof to that, with label boss Boys Noize himself, D.I.M., Djedjotronic, Les Petits Pilous, Strip Steve & Das Glow, and Housemeister all confirmed to rock the label's own stage. Friends of BNR will perform as special guests: “Entertainist” Chilly Gonzales will present his new album, produced by Boys Noize and Peaches is back with her “Peaches' Lazershow”.

Indietronic fans can look forward to the spectacular audiovisual live show of 2manydjs, which is will be seen for the first time in Berlin and is exclusive to the Festival. On Saturday, Soulwax will take to the stage and present tracks from their highly anticipated new album.

Berlin Festival organisers are excited to welcome festival goers from all over Europe, alongside thousands of music industry professionals visiting the Berlin Music Week, Popkomm and all2gethernow, which will also be hosted at Tempelhof Airport.

In cooperation with various music export offices and Popkomm, numerous international showcases will be integrated into the festival line up. All visitors to the Berlin Festival will also have access to spectator-oriented forums and workshops at Popkomm's B2C Day on Friday, 10th September.

Location-wise, a lot is going on as well: Besides the open-air stage on the airfield, hangar 4 (last year's mainstage) will be host to various gigs (this time with perfect sound and stage design). In addition, there will be an indoor stage in hangar 5.
