The Brute Chorus will headline the 2000trees Festival’s Early Entry Evening, delighted organisers confirmed today.
Six Nation State, Lets Tea Party and Wojtek Godzisz (formerly songwriter of Symposium) are also among the seven acts set to kick off the opening night on Thursday, July 15. Just 500 fans will get the chance to arrive unrushed, pick a prime camping spot and start the party early with bands performing at the Leaf Lounge marquee from 5pm onwards.
Many Early Entry Evening passes have already been sold and cost just £10, so the remainder are expected to disappear very quickly. Especially with The Subways and Frank Turner already confirmed as main stage headliners for the festival, which takes place at Upcote Farm near Cheltenham on July 16 and 17.
There will be more than 60 acts on three stages plus comedy, DJs, headphone disco and campfire sing-a-longs to keep the party spirit going till dawn. The Brute Chorus are back at 2000trees by popular demand after showcasing their charmingly ramshackle brand of scuzzy, blues folk at last year’s festival. Starting their career in 2007 playing a residency at the Hawley Arms in Camden, it’s been a pretty meteoric rise with plaudits from the likes of Zane Lowe and Steve Lamacq and a feature as the Myspace artist of the month.
The full Early Entry Evening line-up is: The Brute Chorus, Six Nation State, Lets Tea Party, Wojtek Godzisz, Che, John Crampton and Howard James Kenny.
Festival organiser James Scarlett said: “This is a great value way to start the 2000trees Festival weekend, giving people the chance to arrive early and enjoy an extra evening of music and fun. “We are delighted to welcome back some of our favourite acts for the Thursday night, who have helped 2000trees Festival establish its reputation for bringing together the best new British music.”
