International Acts Announced For Hampton Court Palace Festival

Hampton Court Palace Festival supported by Continental Airlines, arguably one of the most beautiful and unique festival settings in the UK, is celebrating its 18th birthday with a series of concerts that boast some of the greatest names in popular music.

The concert dates for the 2010 Festival are as follows:
Tuesday 8 June Jackson Browne
Friday 11 June Jools Holland with Alison Moyet
Saturday 12 June Nicola Benedetti and the RPO
Tuesday 15 June Simply Red
Wednesday 16 June Simply Red
Thursday 17 June Michael Bolton
Friday 18 June Katherine Jenkins
Saturday 19 June Michael Ball

Jools Holland said of the Festival:
“This is also a great and important first for the band. To have Alison Moyet with my big band is something I’m looking forward to more than anything. It is a magical venue in that courtyard because we are enclosed with the audience in a late-Medieval world. If there are any ghosts there they have no chance at all.”

Stephen Flint Wood, Managing Director, IMG Arts & Entertainment, the Festival Organiser said:
“We are delighted to celebrate the Festival’s 18th birthday with such a fantastic line-up of artists. We are very proud of the unique concert experience we can give to the fans and the artists performing. All of these artists sell-out huge arenas and our festival gives fans a rare chance to enjoy these musical stars in such a remarkable and intimate concert space.”

Hampton Court Palace Festival supported by Continental Airlines stands out in a busy UK Festival programme, due to its combination of magical 16th century setting and world-class artists performing. The venue capacity, in Base Court with a stunning backdrop of the palace, is just 2,700, giving fans a unique opportunity to see world-class performers ‘close-up and personal’. The ticket price includes free car-parking and access to the gardens for picnicking.

For the first time French cuisine specialists and food store Villandry will be offering guests the option of purchasing their pre-prepared picnic hampers. For those who wish to sample the unique experience of dining inside the palace, a sumptuous dinner is served in the historic and regal State Apartments: giving diners a feast for the eyes as the rooms contain breathtaking art from the Royal Collection. Whether guests choose to bring their own picnics or sip champagne at the Veuve Clicquot bar, the official champagne supplier of the festival, Hampton Court Palace Festival allows festival goers to define their own experience.
