The pace is hotting up as one of the most exciting festival propositions in Europe grows ever nearer! Springfestival is all set to spectacularly start the season with a huge lineup performing in the stunning Austrian city of Graz from Wed 12th-Sat 15th May.
Ten years ago, a new era of music and culture began in Austria, heralding the birth of springfestival, the biggest Austrian festival for electronic music and art. The Noughties have since seen springfestival evolve from a small local gathering into a global forerunner of clubture; a meeting place for live musicians, multiple electronic genres and clubbers alike, united for a long weekend of aural enrichment and cultural hedonism.
With the festival now two months away, the excitement is continuing to build. One of the festival’s organisers over in Austria, Tim Ertl, says that:
“We are really proud to have reached the tenth year of Springfest and to continue bringing some of the world's best music talent to Graz. It's an exciting time for all involved and we think this will be our best year yet. We are very happy with the lineup so far; we have got some really diverse live acts and DJs confirmed with still more bookings to come soon. The electronic and music culture scene has been growing steadily in Austria for some years now so we are all very happy to be contributing to the overall evolution of it. It's a really exciting time for us to be creating the festival and looking forwards the future, contributing to a really strong music and culture scene across Europe. For us, the acts we bring to Graz are representative of the incredible scope of music out there. And being set in such a beautiful location means we really hope people are enchanted and inspired by springfestival through the music, the culture here and the city itself.”
So now, in 2010, celebrating its tenth anniversary, springfestival is ready to take on the new decade bigger and better than ever. A host of new names playing at the festival have just been released, including Erol Alkan, Theo Parish and Rainer Truby alongside live headliners Zoot Woman, The Japanese Popstars and ear-warping bass from Zombie Nation.

The festival takes place in Graz, the 2nd largest city in Austria, over 12th-15th May. Nestled around a lush green hill and a sparkling river, it combines Old World/Middle European charm with cutting-edge architectural feats in a most delightful and enchanting way. Cobbled streets wind their way around quirky houses of the “Old City” centre, part of the UNESCO World Heritage List, only to arrive at mind-boggling gravity-defying futuristic structures, built when Graz was Cultural Capital of Europe in 2003.
