The legendary student end of year, beach side blow-out Summer Break in Newquay on the 6th – 10th, 13th – 17th and 20th – 24th June 2010 has pulled out all the stops this year and are proud to announce some huge, chart topping additions to their already bulging line up.
For three amazing weeks, the Sun drenched beaches of Newquay will see 9,000 student partygoers take over for four days of BBQs, outlandish parties, surfing and music. With the likes of Electro rapper Example, drum and bass heavy weight Sub Focus, big bass dupstepper Caspa and Radio 1s very own Mistajam already in place the line up keeps getting bigger and bigger.
First up is MOBO winner and one of grime’s freshest (and youngest) upstarts, the amazing Chipmunk. Singled out as the future face of British grime, ‘Mr Munk’ has gained support from the likes of Radio 1 and Wiley amongst others and we cant wait to see him in action!
Next in line is man of the moment and London rapper Tinie Tempah. With his debut single “Pass Out” shooting straight to number 1, it goes to show that the hype surrounding Tinie Tempah is fully justified. Dubbed the next big thing by all the big players at Radio 1 including Tim Westwood, Zane Lowe, Annie Mac, Chris Moyles & Jo Whiley this London boy is going to be huge!
And as if getting down and dirty and covering your self in some of the finest grime known to man wasn’t exciting enough, Summer Break are also proud to announce some amazing new additions to their DJ bill.
Joining Chipmunk and Tinie will be the very fierce and very talented DJ Zinc. With a career, which spans drum and bass, jungle and now the extremely addictive ‘crack house,’ Zinc is a name synonymous with quality. Brutal bass lines meet a relentless and hard-hitting house engine in his jump up and down high energy sets and we’re very excited to have him on board.
Also heading down to the sun soaked Cornish Coast is the brainchild of Beni G (Mixologists) and Plus One (Scratch Perverts), Jack Beats. Representing part of a brand new wave of British house music taking in wobbly basslines, big breakdowns and edgy accapellas cut, copied and then pasted lovingly together, this is floor filling wobble bass filth at it’s very best.
Last up will be radio 1’s very own Andy George and Jaymo. Slamming out everything from electro, disco, synth pop and indie these rising upstarts wont fail to get you bopping!
