Never Too Old To Be Emo

In an attempt to make Mat feel old, the boys and I championed Emo Friday last week. Jai was DJ and we blasted out some The Swellers, Weezer and other such American “drivel” that leaves Mat cold.

We then took pity on him and struck up a deal turning Emo Friday into Urban Friday. Some old school hip-hop was put on and everyone was happy. That may have also been down to the bumper, family size packet of biscuits I brought in as it was pay day too, but ah well.

However, Mat did put Dolly Parton “Live In London” on as I was leaving the office. Maybe he wasn’t that pleased by our choices after all. Personally, I think he’s still mourning the loss of his Daniel Bedingfield CD.

Plus, The Jonas Brothers did me proud by winning two NME Awards last week. OK, they were for Worst Band and Worst Album, but they’re still awards and I still love them. If anyone has any suggestions as to how I can lure Joe Jonas away from Pixie Lott I’ll be extremely grateful.

Anyway, we have loads of super exciting things for you on the site this week. We have Audio Bullys, Jimi Hendrix and Chibuku competitions, interviews with Russell from Editors and Straight Lines and The Crave, Roachford and Nick Harper are all on tour.

What are you waiting for? Go, go, go!
