Award Season

Looks like my BRIT Awards predictions were slightly wide of the mark last week, with Florence only getting one of the three awards she was nominated for but at least Lady Gaga cleared up like I expected. She didn’t fail to disappoint in her outrageous outfit and huge wig either, it’s nice to know there’s still a few eccentrics left in this world.

With the Shockwaves NME Awards just around the corner and a mammoth twenty six categories to choose from those overlooked by the BRITs panel could still be honoured.

I have to admit though, I’m always more anxious to see who walks away with the title of Villain of the Year and Worst Dressed than I am to see who is celebrating being crowned with the Best Band or Live Event Awards. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for The Jonas Brothers this year as they’re nominated for Worst Album, come on boys, you can do it!!

I definitely have my own opinion on the Hottest Male too and with the nominees including Alex Turner, Liam Gallagher, Peter Doherty, Matt Bellamy and Brandon Flowers, I’d feel personally insulted to be up against them if I was Julian Casablancas! *swoon*.

Anyway, enough of this chit chat. On the site this week we have competitions to win a copy of the new Jimi Hendrix album and tickets to Chibuku’s tenth birthday party.
