The Kooks and Zane Lowe Confirmed for Mallorca Rocks Hotel Launch

Following in the footsteps of the groundbreaking Ibiza Rocks Hotel, the all new Mallorca Rocks Hotel will feature live bands, hot weather and cool, contemporary accommodation.

Christening the permanent courtyard stage are multi million selling British band The Kooks and master of new music, DJ Zane Lowe – a combination that will set the standard and start the celebrations on Sunday 6 June.

The sun will ‘shine on’ Magaluf when The Kooks swap Brighton for the Balearics and bring their luminous live set to Mallorca’s newest, biggest and best party pad. The 328 room Mallorca Rocks Hotel is based on the same successful model as the Ibiza Rocks Hotel, encapsulating a whole lifestyle under one roof, including FIVE signature gigs by best selling international bands, during it’s opening season.

In 2005, unsigned and relatively unknown, The Kooks were one of the first ever bands to play Ibiza Rocks, thanks to the persuasive touch of new band champion, Zane Lowe. Five years later, and as one of the biggest bands to break out of Britain and smash the States, they return to Spain to shake things up and show yet another new generation of live music loving holidaymakers just what Mallorca has been missing!

As the unrivalled innovator of Ibiza’s live music scene, Ibiza Rocks challenged and changed perceptions of Ibiza since launching in 2005 and is now considered one of Europe’s hottest music events. Radio 1’s Zane Lowe played an imperative role in persuading the bands to play Ibiza Rocks, back when it all began and he’s now considered one of the family, sharing hosting duties and playing special guest DJ sets every year since.

The Ibiza Rocks Hotel opened its rock ‘n’ roll doors in 2008 and quickly became THE biggest youth hotel on the island, offering flexible and affordable travel deals together with a spectacular live music programme.

Mallorca Rocks Hotel, situated in the very heart of Magaluf is a massive 12-building affair set around a huge 85-metre lagoon-like pool, surrounded by three new bars, a restaurant and the Mallorca Rocks fashion store. Palm trees, tropical gardens and a chill out terrace make up the vibrant outdoor scene. There is also a five-a-side football pitch and a sports complex with tennis courts nearby plus watersports on the beach, so days can be as lazy or as lively as guests choose. Gigs will be as live and as loud as guests expect!
