Kate Nash Says Bollocks To Poverty

Kate Nash is doing her bit for BOLLOCKS TO POVERTY, the youth arm of international development charity, ActionAid, by donating her exclusive personal playlist of female anthems to celebrate International Women’s Day.

Not one to shy away from campaigning as her own music reflects, Kate has chosen songs for her playlist that sum up what it means to be a woman. Her selection ranges from BJORK to DESTINY’S CHILD. Talking about the track Survivor Kate stresses why this song does it for her and women everywhere; “It's teaching you to stay positive not bitter, don’t let people get you down, let them fuel your own ambition in life and happiness.”

All over the world there are inspiring women standing up and demanding their rights to land, food and freedom from violence. The lack of control that women have over their own lives is a huge global injustice, and keeps whole communities locked into poverty. ActionAid believes this is both unfair and a fundamental barrier to ending poverty, which is why it’s at the centre of everything they do.

ActionAid is calling on music fans everywhere to throw a party in March for International Women’s Day and show their support for women around the world fighting discrimination, poverty and violence.
