Boyzone have released their new video for their first single as a quartet. The video is a fitting tribute to the late Stephen Gately, called 'Gave It All Away'. This co-incides with The Sun confirming that Gately died in October at age 33, of natural causes.
An autopsy has revealed that Gately suffered from an undiagnosed heart condition, which thickened his arteries and caused cardiac arrest. The star was found on the morning of October 10, lifeless, by his husband Andrew Cowles in their home in Majorca.
A judge confirmed that a night of heavy drinking and smoking marijuana before his passing were not factors in his untimely death.
The powerful video is emotionally charged with raw documentary footage of Stephen during their reformation tour in 2007.
Shot in black and white, it depicts Ronan, Mikey, Shane and Keith reflecting on their deceased bandmate and each writing him a personal letter. The video is an intimate look at how close the band are, with both tears of sadness and happy laughing memories highlighted. The four men sit around a table sharing stories, with one chair empty as a tribute to Stephen.
The ballad and lead single was written by popstar Mika and will be released in early March, followed by a new album being released the week after. The album is rumoured to be titled 'Brothers'.
