Perennial US folk music legend returns to the UK for a short tour and new live DVD, in what will be an incredible SIXTH decade as a live performer.
Ever since Tom emerged as a cutting edge singer-songwriter in the early 60s, championing civil rights and always providing topical social comment through his songwriting, he has delighted generations of audiences with unforgettable classics including ‘Ramblin’ Boy’,‘Always on My Mind’, ‘Bottle of Wine’.
His work has been covered by everyone from Joan Baez, Judy Collins and Nanci Gritths to Pete Seeger, Willie Nelson and John Denver and he was rightfully recognized with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement award earlier this year.
Tom retains a quite magical charisma on stage, time certainly hasn't diluted his relevance as a live performer; he still combines his subtly acerbic wit with dignity, humanity and unique charm in abundance.
Book early for what could be one of the last ever chances to spend another truly wonderful evening in the company of one of the defining voices of American folk. “I can't go on foerver!” he jokes. Unfortunately, he's probably right!
No one ever walks away from a Tom Paxton show without a big smile and a warm feeling in their heart. An absolute one off.
