The Chemists release their new single “Milk and Honey” on October 26th through Distiller Records. The single will be available on 7” and download. The 7” single will include a bonus CD featuring an extra track “Close Your Eyes” and remixes of “Hear Our Song” by Jagz Kooner and “Hot In That” by Dub Pistols.
The Chemists are Johnny Benn (Vocals), Sam James (Lead Guitar), Wayne Jones (Bass), Dave Betts (Rhythm Guitar) and Matt Albon (Drums.)
The single is taken from their debut album “The Theories of Dr. Lovelock”, which will be released on November 2nd through Distiller Records.
The song is about the story of a deluded man whose girlfriend left him and he can’t understand why, as he believes he is the bee – knees, the track is driven by an almighty melodic guitar pop hook and turbo – charged vocals.
The accompanying video is an extremely humorous affair featuring Howard Marks (Mr Nice) and the band swapping various fancy dress outfits, in a rather surreal interpretation of the opening credits from the classic TV show, ‘The Brady Bunch’! Howard Marks became a fan of the band after seeing them perform live at the recent London Distiller Night showcase in London.
Their musical influences are the Queens of the Stone Age, The Pixies, The Police and Doves, amongst others. The Chemists have toured with Feeder, Boxer Rebellion, White Belt Yellow Tag amongst others, as well as recently performing on the ‘Distiller Nights’ nationwide tour. They have also just completed a surf inspired tour of the south west of England. Plans are afoot for a European tour with Howard Marks as special guest DJ and a UK nationwide tour will be announced shortly.
