Phantom Limb To Support Will Young On UK Tour

Bristolian country-soul sextet, Phantom Limb, have been invited to be the sole support on Will Young’s tour in November and December. The tour will coincide with the release of a special edition of their eponymous album on 9th November. A seamless amalgam of classic, southern soul, country blues and gospel, theirs is intelligent music-making with impeccable standards.

Phantom Limb will restore your faith in contemporary music with their enigmatic song writing and raw elegance employing the simple and often forgotten principle that great music is about playing the right things at the right time. Few bands can boast a vocalist of the quality of Yolanda Quartey – a mix of Etta James, Aretha Franklin and Mavis Staples best describe the unique sound of Yolanda's burnished mahogany voice.

The 21 date tour UK tour starts in Belfast on November 9th and concludes in Brighton on December 6th. Looking forward to the dates bass player Dan Brown said “We were lucky enough to support Will at Audley Hall last month playing in front of over 9000 people and the tour is a great opportunity for us to broaden our audience some more – it’s going to be an amazing experience for all of us.”

Released on 5th October, ‘Draw the Line’, a brand new recording, is a bluesy, waltzy tune with a strong melody and gorgeous gospel harmonies that underpin Yolanda’s beautiful soul voice. The song has been added to the special edition of their self-titled album.

It seems almost mind-blowing that a band can drop jaws at SXSW, Glastonbury and Great Escape, be personally invited to support Will Young, Massive Attack, Beth Rowley and Candi Staton and either write or produce with Damon Albarn, Daddy G (Massive Attack), Hope Sandoval (Mazzy Star), Skin (Skunk Anansie) and Will Young…and not be a household name….yet…

In addition to supporting Will on his national tour Phantom Limb will be Beth Rowley’s special guest at Bristol’s Colston Hall on September 24th and will be announcing their own live dates in December.
