THE BLOW MONKEYS

Eighties pop heroes The Blow Monkeys are set to include Crawdaddy in their long-awaited comeback tour schedule this September. Twenty years after the zenith of such classics as “Digging Your Scene”, “It Doesn’t Have To Be This Way”, and “You Don’t Own Me”, Dr Robert and the gang reunited for the release late last year of a brilliant new album “Devil’s Tavern”, which was funded by pre-orders placed by the group’s ever enduring fan base.

SUNSET RUBDOWN

Experimental side project of Wolf Parade’s ascending king of Indie rock, Spencer Krug, Sunset Rubdown bring their sprawling prog-rock epics back to Dublin this September following their sublime show at Crawdaddy early last year. The Montreal quintet released their third full-band, full-length album “Dragonslayer” last month, the follow-up to the hugely acclaimed “Random Spirit Lover”.

THE WHISPERTOWN 2000

Hotly tipped & easy on the eye Indie folk outfit The Whispertown 2000 play their debut Irish show Sunday 20th September at Crawdaddy. The first signing to Gillian Welch and David Rawlings’ Acony label, the LA quartet, fronted by Morgan Nagler, released their second album “Swim” last October to glowing reviews. Their lo-fi Indie is flavoured with antique country harmonies and touches of psychedelia, complimented exquisitely by Nagler’s addictive vocals. Sounds delicious to us…
