Oasis Split: Insult That Caused Gallagher Brothers Biggest Fight

More reports on the Oasis split say Noel walked out on Oasis just minutes before their performance at Paris'Rock En Seine Festival after the brothers had a punch-up. Obviously not the first of their career, but the one that was the final straw.

The Daily Mirror reported that fellow musician on the bill singer Amy Macdonald, wrote on her Twitter page “Liam smashed Noel's guitar, huuuge fight!” Support band Bloc Party broke the news to disappointed fans that Oasis would not be playing. Bet that was nice and awkward for them. As Bloc Party announced this a message appeared on the big screens that “As a result of an altercation within the band, Oasis have cancelled.”

It has since been disclosed that an insult from Liam was the final straw for Noel. According to the News Of The World, Liam had apparently joked that Noel wasn't the real father of Anais, Noel's daughter from a previous marriage. Noel, understandably, deemed this “unforgivable”. In a statement on the official Oasis website Noel said that:

“…I feel you have the right to know that the level of verbal and violent intimidation towards me, my family, friends and comrades has become intolerable. And the lack of support from my management and band mates has left me with no other option than to get me [sic] cape and seek pastures new.”
