Offset Festival Preview

Can’t afford a festival but would love to see a wonderful amalgamation of post-punk heroes and contemporary artists play? Well, Offset is your answer.

Offset proves that you don’t have to be a fat, greedy corporate swine to put on a festival. Not only does Offset boast one of the most interesting and diverse line-up’s of this year, but it is the cheapest by a country mile. With the majority of festivals way exceeding the £100 mark, Offset comes in at under half that. A two day non-camping pass will cost you a mere £45 or for an extra tenner you can camp for the weekend £55. And if you really had your finger on the pulse then you would have snapped up one of their super-early bird tickets for £35. That’s a two day festival in a picturesque forest with a Stella line-up for less than it would cost for about nine pints of warm lager from V Festival. And if they aren’t content with giving you outstanding value for money for your ticket, you can even bring alcohol to the festival, it’s limited, but hey.

So, who’s on the bill? Well mercury prize nominees The Horrors are the headliners, along with The Futureheads, Post-Punk icons the Slits and A Certain Ratio will be reforming and performing. CAN’s Damo Suzuki will be making a rare performance. Plus some of the greatest new bands kicking around at the moment, including: Wild Beasts, Dananackroyd, Bombay Bicycle Club, Future Of The Left, Lets Wrestle, Kasms, S.C.U.M, Pulled Apart By Horses, Hatcham Social, Rolo Tomassi, The XX, Maps, Ipso Factor, Shrag, Metronomy and a tonne more. Each stage and tent is carefully crafted to suit specific genres, so if you are into dance, hardcore, post-punk, twee or indie it will be personally seen to by the curators that you are fulfilled.
