It is confirmed that Muse will play two homecoming gigs in Teignbridge on the 4th and 5th September. They will take place in local venue, The Den.
The news comes after the local council approved the shows. Muse bassist, Chris Wolstenholme personally attended a licensing hearing yesterday. An objection form the police regarding traffic management and crime was withdrawn, and the shows received no other objections from local residents.
It is reported by the Herald Express that restrictions on the shows include that sound levels must not exceed 84.1 decibels at the nearest premises to the venue.
Wolstenholme spoke of the shows, “I am chuffed to bits the application was granted. We were coming towards the end of making the album about four months ago and were talking about warm up gigs
“We thought that it would be great to do something on The Den, rather than the typical London gig or radio session. I think it will be a proud moment for us and it will show people what we have been doing for the past 12 years.
“It’s not a money making exercise. It’s not a profit-making event and we wan tot give something back to the community – maybe a youth organisation – but we have to lok into that in more detail.”
The band are set to release the new album, called ‘The Resistance’, on the 14th September.
Tickets for the shows will go on sale on Friday, August 21st, at 9am.
