La Roux's Elly Jackson has admitted that she sympathises with her fellow electropop star Little Boots because of the tremendous hype surrounding her.
Jackson said the media had over-hyped the artist to the point that she will be considered a failure if she doesn't have a bestselling record.
Speaking to the Daily Star, she said: “The reaction she got was so unfair. Hype can be a very dangerous thing, it can accelerate people's expectations.
“We felt the same about our album but we have got away with it.”
La Roux's self-titled debut was held off the top spot by Michael Jackson last month but the duo's second single 'Bulletproof' reached number one in June.
