American Idol Contestant Found Dead

Two times American Idol contestant Alexis Cohen was found dead on Saturday morning, she had been hit by a car in New Jersey and killed. The driver of the car is currently being held on bail and will be charged with reckless driving and leaving the scene of the collision. This sad news comes two years after Alexis originally auditioned for American Idol. Unfortunately Alexis didn’t make it through to the finals; however you can take a look at her audition above…

In other American Idol news Cheryl Cole has apparently turned down a role as a judge on the show, preferring instead to concentrate on her solo album. The Girls Aloud star was in the running to take Paula Abdul’s place when she leaves the show in 2010. However, according to reports Cheryl was reluctant to make a full time commitment to live in America, as it would mean too much time away from her husband Ashley Cole.
