Delphic return this summer with their new single This Momentary. Released on the perma-chic French indie label Kitsuné, whose ability to spot tomorrow’s stars remains as strong as ever, it’s a subtly blissed out blast of euphoria that takes in both the crisp drive of minimal techno and the epic scope of bands like Muse or Radiohead to create something entirely their own and entirely new and beguiling.
“The guitar is dead, long live the guitar,” proclaim the Manchester trio, fresh from supporting Orbital and currently busy working on their new album, blurring the boundaries between indie and electronics until preconceived notions of genre have lost all meaning. Their debut single Counterpoint pointed the way forward to a shining future straddling the hedonistic worlds of Glastonbury and Berlin, while this summer has been spent combining festival dates with working with producer Ewan Pearson in crafting a future classic steeped in both introspection and hedonism. The first results are ’This Momentary’, a restrained lyric gently building over sharply driving techno beats until it becomes a euphoric future stadium anthem.
