La Roux & The Specials Confirm Irish Dates

British electro-popsters La Roux have confirmed a date for Dublin's Academy on Thurs 12th August.

Originally signed by French label Kitsune then subsequently dropped after one single, the duo of singer Elly Jackson & producer Ben Langmaid released their critically acclaimed debut LP after signing with Polydor last June. Their self-titled opus peaked at number 2 in the UK album charts in its first week of release, selling 63,000 copies. Tickets for La Roux are priced €17.50 incl. booking fee and are on sale from this Friday, 17th July, at all usual Ticketmaster outlets.

If you missed them at Oxegen, like I did, then you'll be thrilled to hear that The Specials have included two Irish dates on their 30th Anniversary Tour. They play Dublin's Olympia Theatre on Sunday 15th of November & also descend upon St Georges' Market in Belfast the following night. Tickets for the Dublin show go on sale Friday 17th July at 9am priced at €49.20 including booking fee and €54.80 including booking fee from all the usual outlets.
