Michael Eavis, who launched the iconic Glastonbury Festival, will stand down as the organiser of the event in 2011.
The farmer launched the notorious festival on his land back in 1970, but is now handing over the duties of arranging the event to his daughter Emily and her fiancé Nick Dewey. Emily has been taking on more responsibilities in recent years.
Michael Eavis says, “I still feel I have an important role to play. Even if I go I'll worry about the drains, the rubbish, the recycling. There will be a gradual process of her and Nick taking it over.”
Eavis was named as the UKs second most influential boss in recent years, and will still preside over the weekend’s festival, which will see the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, and Blur headlining.
