Chris Brown was ordered to keep 50 yards away from Rihanna unless the two are at the same gig, when he must stay 10 yards away.

Five years probation, 180 hours community service, a bruised ego and a badly damaged reputation was the punishment dished out in Los Angeles, California.

Chris Brown admitted attacking ex-girlfriend Rihanna, but the R& B singer, 20, avoided prison by striking a plea bargain with prosecutors, but will have to complete 180 days' labour.

Both Rihanna and Chris Brown were in the court together, their first public encounter since the assault.
