Summer Sundae is delighted to announce another 9 acts and another 9 aural reasons why you should spend your summer with us! We’ve already sold a record number of tickets for what’s becoming the most eagerly anticipated event in this proudly independent festival’s 9 year history, and day tickets are on sale as of the 20th April. So if you can't make it down for the whole weekend then day tickets are the perfect way to dip your toe into the Summer Sundae Weekender experience.
So then to the acts, having already announced incredible headliners The Streets, The Zutons, The Charlatans and Bon Iver, this announcement once again reflects Summer Sundae Weekender’s commitment to acquiring a diversity and quality of acts from several walks of the musical stratosphere.
First up two bands that had massive feel good hits last year, Mystery Jets and Chairlift. The brilliant Mystery Jets captured the intrigue of a generation with their single ‘Two Doors Down’ and with their popularity ever-growing they can boast headline spots at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire. In addition, Brooklyn based Chairlift’s ubiquitous smash ‘Bruises’ was featured on the TV advertising campaign for Apple’s iPod last year.
Next up two living legends. Massive Attack collaborator and dub star Horace Andy (performing alongside echodeck beatmaker Ashley Beedle) and former Stranglers frontman and author Hugh Cornwell, who will be in attendance to educate and delight the raft of young and old alike.
Summer Sundae Weekender has always had a strong folk voice and this year will be no different. One of the most exciting young voices on the folk scene John Smith will be joined by San Franciscan’s Port O’Brien, as well as freewheeling 70’s prog/folk revivalists The Yellow Moon Band.
Providing something altogether more electronic and angular are Camden outfit Ou Est Le Swimming Pool, and finally Edinburgh's Broken Records swap instruments and make a sound so wonderfully idiosyncratic that they have been compared by the NME and Drowned in Sound to Arcade Fire.

SUMMER SUNDAE
For those of you that didn’t realise, Summer Sundae Weekender started life as a one day festival almost 9 years ago, since then the festival has grown organically into a 3 day major music event and this year is set to be the biggest Summer Sundae Weekender yet. With wonderful bands (top headliners, bluegrass, folk, electronica, comedy and theatre) set over 6 stages, a civilised and relaxed atmosphere, an unwavering ethical standpoint, high production values, a range of foods from around the world, 20 cask ales and a mean line in mojitos, Summer Sundae has truly blazed the trail for the modern independent festival. This has been recognised by the UK festivals awards who bestowed Summer Sundae the much coveted Red Kite and Best Small Festival Awards in recent years.
Tickets are on sale now.
