Anyone who is anyone has a Barbie style doll made of them these days. Yes, such greats as The Spice Girls, Girls Aloud and even S Club 7 have all got their very own mini-me’s. Not content with bestowing this kind of honour onto just pop stars toy manufacturers even include actors. Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu all had dolls made in their vision when they starred in Charlie’s Angels. The millionaire Olsen twins have about five thousand different types of doll made in their light. Yep, you know you’ve arrived when you’ve got a doll version of yourself. Ok, well maybe not.
Nether the less the next celebrity to have the honour of the doll bestowed upon them is our favourite sassy lady Beth Ditto. To celebrate the launch of Miss Ditto’s first clothing collection for high street store Evans, they have produced a 63cm high Beth Ditto doll. Speaking to Heat magazine a spokesperson said that even though there had been a lot of interest in the doll ‘…sadly, there are no plans to put the doll into production.’. Boo Hiss. I think this is the part where we start a campaign on Facebook to get the Beth Ditto doll made for mass consumption. And yes, you did hear right Beth Ditto a woman renowned for getting her kit off is designing a clothing line which hits the shops on July 9th at your local Evans store.
