Creamfields Acts Smash BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend

BBC Radio 1’s ‘Big Weekend’ kicked off the Festival season in spectacular style at the weekend as the sun shone over 20,000 people in Swindon, all of which went ‘bonkers’ to an array of awesome performances from some of the UK’s biggest acts.

One of the biggest draws was Dizzee Rascal, who took the roof off when he performed his new track ‘Bonkers’, Dizzee who delivered an ‘electro’ sounding set much to the delight and surprise of the crowd, commented “I've had a few people shouting it out to me today, man. It's good though. Bonkers – that's the summer word. It's going off,” he also roped in Calvin Harris to join him on stage for their track ‘Dance Wiv Me’.

During his own performance, No.1 Chart topper Calvin Harris decided to rock things up as he decided to stage dive following his ‘electro pop’ set, fortunately he received no injuries and managed to cling onto his blue sequin jacket, much to the delight of Dizzee, who was giving support dancing in the wings. Both artistes who are performing at this years Creamfields festival have ‘danced’ up their sets, in preparation for the global dance festival Creamfields.

Headlining the ‘In New Music We Trust’ stage was Creamfields headliners Basement Jaxx, introduced on stage by Pete Tong, they managed to deliver one of the most colourfully, energetic performances of the event complete with dancing panda, finishing off their set with a version of ‘Where’s Your Head At’.

Deadmau5 takes the prize for best stage entrance and outfit! Canadian born producer Deadmau5 aka Joel Zimmerman, has quickly become one of the worlds most in demand artistes. Riding on stage using a green BMX and sporting a customised disco ball mouse head, he systematically tore the place apart with new material mixed in with some heavy ‘Daft Punk’ beats. Deadmau5 wouldn’t expand but did confirm he would be creating a new and “very special” mouse head for his exclusive performance at Creamfields.

Elsewhere on site French DJ / Producer David Guetta delivered an uplifting set whilst fellow collaborator Kelly Rowland packed out the Live Lounge arena and performed Guetta’s smash hit ‘When Love Takes’ Over’. 2manydjs provided some mid afternoon mish mash energy to the proceedings, Friendly Fires set the ‘In New Music We Trust’ stage alight, and London based duo Chase & Status delivered a bouncing drum and bass performance.

All of these acts will be performing at Creamfields on August Bank Holiday Weekend and if these performances are anything to go by, we’re in for a treat! For a limited period, all Weekend and Camping tickets are priced at £100+BF, on sale now link / Tel: 0844 888 4401. Info: link
