Having already announced some truly incredible acts for this year’s Bestival, we really couldn’t wait for our next mega-announcement to tell you that Belgian über lords of the dance Soulwax will be rocking the joint with both a live set and a 2manydjs set, adding even more unbelievable excitement to our Year of the Spectacular!
Centred around David and Stephen Dewaele, Soulwax’s sharp-suited futuristic electro rocking has consistently blown away anyone who’s been lucky enough to catch them live, so we’re ecstatic to welcome them to the main stage for this year’s Bestival. But it doesn’t stop there, oh no because we’ve also bagged the Dewaele brothers for one of their amazingly epic 2manydjs sets. Stunningly good DJs who really do have to be seen to be believed, 2ManyDJs will be dropping lashings of their mercurial mixing magic to truly dancefloor devastating effect!
Rob da Bank calmed down just long enough to say: “2manydjs are without a doubt my favourite DJs in the world, and it’s been donkeys years since they last played Bestival so I’m well chuffed they’re coming back to smash the hell out of the place! Not only that but they’re also donning their white suits and rocking out on the main stage in their alter egos Soulwax – now that is doubly exciting and possibly the only chance you’ll get to see Soulwax live in the UK this year!”
Keep an eye out for more news at link and remember that we haven’t announced our Sunday night headliner yet and we’re knee-tremblingly excited about that one…
IOW Charity Fun-Raiser feat. Dub Pistols & Rob da Bank
The Isle of Wight Youth Trust has joined forces with Bestival to put on a Fabulous Charity Fun-Raiser gig (in aid of the Youth Trust) on Saturday 14th March at The Venue @ Ryde Theatre, Isle of Wight featuring Rob da Bank, Dub Pistols (live), The Hat (live), Bastila (live), Blank Beats (live) & The Bees present The Sound Selection.
The Isle of Wight Youth Trust provides Welfare Services for both Bestival and Camp Bestival in return for a donation to their funds.
Rob da Bank says; “Eileen Monks and her gang are an essential part of Bestival returning lost property, keeping cold kids warm, handing out tea and smiles and generally keeping us all on our toes. We wanted to pay her back by helping out with the party (like we need an excuse for a party!). And the Isle of Wight Youth Trust charity is one close to our hearts too… Let’s party!”
The Isle of Wight Youth Trust is celebrating 25 years of helping young people on the Island. The Youth Trust is an independent organisation and registered charity that provides free counselling to those young people who have relationship problems, who self harm, who are anxious or depressed, are suicidal or who just need a listening ear.
