The King Blues 'Save The World, Get The Girl' Release

2008 saw The King Blues triumph at Reading and Leeds Festivals, play their biggest headline gig to date at Islington Academy, and play shows with some of their favourite bands including Rancid, The Gaslight Anthem and Fucked Up. Their music was remixed by Gallows and Dan Le Sac & Scroobius Pip, and they received their first daytime playlists from Radio 1 and XFM amongst others. They even got their own billboard in Shoreditch, London, spray-painting a open letter to Gordon Brown upon it. Their album Save The World, Get The Girl is no. 2 in Big Cheese’s albums of 2008, and no. 25 in Rock Sound’s.

2009 will see the release of at least three King Blues singles, starting with the title track from the album, Save The World, Get The Girl, a passionate but funny track which is basically the band’s “to do” list, not necessarily in order of priority.

To accompany the single release, the band are doing a special UK tour in partnership with the Big Issue. Entrance will be free to anyone carrying a copy of that week’s Big Issue. King Blues frontman Itch was homeless for a time in his teens, and sold the Big Issue.

UK tour dates:
Feb 5 – London, Fire, (Vauxhall)
Feb 8 – Birmingham, Barfly
Feb 9 – Cardiff, Barfly
Feb 11 – Liverpool, Barfly
Feb 14 – Glasgow, Barfly
