Spring Break 2009 has confirmed its 5 day line-up for the Magaluf event in March/April headlined by critically acclaimed rapper Dizzee Rascal and hip hop duo Madcon.
Along with the fantastic headliners, the event will also feature performances from Zarif, Will and The People, Julian Perretta, Steve Appleton and Little Comets and DJ sets from Pendulum, Sash, The Pigeon Detectives, Mista Jam, EZ and Tim Westwood. Spring Break will also feature fun and games during the day with boat parties, beach BBQ’s and pool parties in the sunshine to make the event fun-packed from morning until night.
Spring Break launched in the UK for the first time last year and saw students from across the UK take a break from their studies and head to Mallorca resort Magaluf for 5 days of live music and partying at the student-only event. In the US the Spring Break holiday has become a national institution where like-minded students jet off to resorts such as Cancun and Miami to let their hair down. Spring Break UK aims to replicate this rite of passage for UK students.
In March last year bands such as The Hoosiers, DJs including Brandon Block and Radio 1’s Tim Westwood, along with club nights such as Schooldisco.com and Hed Kandi entertained students over 5 evenings. As a result there is already huge interest for this years event, with tickets already on sale and selling fast.
This year Spring Break has formed a new arrangement with Sony Music Entertainment UK, which will see the major label assisting with marketing and promoting the event and also interfacing with brands and sponsors to consolidate the unique position this festival will hold in the student calendar.
Luke Fitzmaurice, Entertainment Manager, National Union of Students Services Ltd, says: “The first Spring Break UK was a real success for us and our flirt and uLive brands. Spring Break UK is a fantastic package for students, and we are excited to be a part of its growth over the next few years. With exciting plans already underway to make SBUK a must-do feature of the student calendar, I’m already looking forward to SBUK and I know our students are too.”
The event will take place in Magaluf from Monday 30th March to Friday 3rd April and tickets will be priced from £149 for an accommodation and wristband package. Tickets are on sale now. Further details can be found at link.
