The spectacular story of Seasick Steve has added another fairytale chapter with the news that he has been nominated for a Brit Award for International Male Solo Artist. The oldest nominee in the history of the awards at the age of 68, Seasick Steve will be competing against the glamour of Kanye West and Jay-Z at the award ceremony held at Earls Court on February 18th.
Seasick Steve’s current album release, ‘I Started Out With Nothin’ And I Still Got Most Of It Left’, debuted in the Top 10 and is now approaching 200,000 sales. Having played a prestigious headline show at the Royal Albert Hall towards the close of 2008, Seasick Steve will commence a UK tour this week that will see him perform to over 16,000 people. The dates include another sizeable London show at Hammersmith Apollo and run as below:
