Blackpool’s own LITTLE BOOTS, aka 24 year old Victoria Hesketh, has been announced as the number 1 tip from the BBC’s Sound of 2009 poll.
The Sound of 2009 list aims to find the most promising new music talent for the new year and is based on tips from over 130 leading UK tastemakers, including top music critics, magazine editors, broadcasters and influential bloggers, who named their favourite three new acts.
Currently in Los Angeles putting the finishing touches on her debut album, which is set for release in summer 2009, Victoria commented: “It's a really exciting thing to win, I'm so grateful so many people voted for me. I just really hope that now I can take things to the next level beyond the critics and tastemakers and start reaching people at home. I want to get played on the radio in Blackpool!”
Following on from this exciting news, LITTLE BOOTS will also be performing live in the UK in February on her own headline tour as well as support for the Mystery Jets NME Awards show.
