With her eagerly awaited debut album First Love released on 9th February, Emmy The Great sets out on a UK tour on January 31st.
Playlisted at 6Music, Emmy's current single We Almost Had A Baby is indicative of the albums “passive aggressive songs”, creeping up on the listener before delivering a startling denouement.
It is a debut album of savage observations and stark admissions, cloaked in arrangements of disarming simplicity and beguiling melody. Arriving as it does self-released, self-funded and self-produced, it provides Emmy’s answer to the pigeonholers and industry insiders who would have her painted differently. Produced in collaboration with guitarist Euan Hinshelwood and pianist Tom Rogerson, it was recorded at The Earlies’ lovably dilapidated studios in rural Lancashire.
Having recently sold out the ICA in London, Emmy The Great sets out on a UK tour in January.
