On Friday 17th October a unique exhibition of ionic rock and roll photography will open to the public on London's Carnaby Street.
Hosted by Rockarchive, the exhibition celebrates 10 years of publishing rare and iconic moments in rock and roll history and will be exclusively showcasing previously unpublished and unseen images before touring the globe.
Founded by acclaimed photographer Jill Furmanovsky in 1998, Rockarchive has become the world’s finest print archive specialising in rock and roll imagery. The Carnaby exhibition will include photographs of The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, The Who, The Clash, U2, Led Zeppelin, Razorlight and Amy Winehouse to The Sex Pistols (who originally played in Carnaby Street). All hand signed limited edition prints will be available to buy with prices starting from £225. Early investment is recommended as print prices increase as the edition sells out.
Visitors to the exhibition can also enjoy an exclusive 10% discount in selected Carnaby stores including iconic Lee Jeans, original Mod destinations Merc, The Face and Sherry’s, trainer classics Gola and rock and roll jewellers The Great Frog. There will also be an auction of prints, for the Nordoff – Robins Music Therapy charity which will co-inside with the exhibition.
After launching in Carnaby, London, the Rockarchive 10th anniversary exhibition will tour in 2009 through Brighton, Sydney, Tokyo, Geneva, Prague and culminates in Autumn 09 in New York.
