Kubichek! Confirm Split
The much feared demise of Newcastle based Indie mob Kubichek! was finally announced on the band’s MySpace page.
With no news on upcoming tours or progress reports on a new album things didn’t look too promising for a band that had been heavily tipped to emulate the successes of Maximo Park . Kubichek! wrote “A few of you may have been expecting this from the lack of updates or even known already… but basically Kubichek! is no more. After Alan left we did a few shows, but to be honest it just didn't feel as though it was what we wanted. So we thank all of you for coming to the shows, buying the records and supporting us over the past four years, you've been amazing.”
Though there is still some good news for fans of the band, with the lads having already started their next project. They said “Out of the ashes though, we found our feet and formed a new band – Black Flashes – and we'd really appreciate it if you could take some time to check us out.”
Black Flashes will be playing the Narc Festival, Newcastle on 19/07/08
