Bright Eyes frontman Conor Oberst has been confirmed to make his Scottish debut at this years Hydro Connect festival, bringing with him a new and largely unknown musical project entitled The Magic Valley Band.
So far the band have only played a handful of US shows meaning UK fans will get a fresh sample of the Bright Eyes singers new musical direction.
In addition to Oberst, band members include singer songwriter Nik Freitas and Rilo Kiley drummer Jason Boesel who will be making his second trip to Inveraray Castle after performing on the WHICH STAGE with Rilo Kiley last year.
More new acts announced include two of rock’s most charismatic front men Mark Lanegan (Screaming Trees, Queens Of The Stone Age) and Greg Dulli (The Afghan Whigs, The Twilight Singers) who have teamed up to become The Gutter Twins. Elsewhere Ozzy indie foursome Howling Bells, the political hip hop sounds of Michael Franti & Spearhead, beat boxer Beardyman, Belfast’s Foy Vance and New York’s Asobi Seksu will all also make their Hydro Connect debut this year.
Tickets for Hydro Connect 2008 are on sale now. Weekend tickets are priced £120 and weekend tickets with camping are £140.
