Experience Hendrix and Geffen, in association with Universal Music, are pleased to announce the October 29th UK release of Jimi Hendrix Experience: Live At Monterey (Definitive Edition) on DVD and Hi-Def DVD. This special edition DVD features all of the existing film footage from Jimi’s incendiary June 18, 1967 concert newly transferred to high-definition specs from the original 16mm camera reversal original. The concert footage has been re-edited, making this the first time Jimi's legendary performance will be captured on DVD in its original performance sequence.
In addition to the legendary Monterey performance, the Definitive Edition DVD boasts several bonus features including a new documentary entitled “American Landing”, which traces Jimi's rise from obscurity to his triumphant U.S. debut at the Monterey Pop Festival, “The Jimi Hendrix Experience: Live At Monterey: A Second Look”; a unique feature that enables viewers to view the concert via different camera angles, “Music Love and Flowers” – a behind-the-scenes documentary about the origins of the Monterey Pop Festival, plus rare performance footage of Jimi performing “Stone Free” and “Like A Rolling Stone” in Chelmsford, England on February 25th 1967.
To launch this landmark release, there is an exclusive UK Theatrical launch on the 25th October at a top London venue. It will feature a screening of a special edit of the legendary Monterey footage, guest speakers and a performance by an all-star band including original Hendrix Experience members and special guest stars.
