Klaxons, Mark Ronson, The Bees, Mumm-Ra, Pigeon Detectives And Many More Join The Line-Up For This Summers Hottest Festival!
O2 Wireless Festival, London 14-17 June; Leeds 15-17 June
Now in its third year the festival with style is back for 2007. From June 14th – 17th the O2 Wireless Festival will be heading back to London’s Hyde Park for four days of sensational live music and the line-up just keeps getting bigger and better.
First up, joining the White Stripes on June 14th, will be a whole host of exciting new bands to include The Bees, Detroit Cobras, The Sounds, Dredg, New Pornographers, Polytechnic, Ghosts, Kissaway Trail and The Lea Shores.
On June 15th the incredible Mark Ronson will get the crowds dancing as he drops his unique selection of beats. Renowned for covering a diverse selection of songs, the New York based producer is sure to leave London on a high. Joining him will be Cat Empire, adding to one stellar line-up.
Next up, on June 16th, fellow Leeds Lads, The Pigeon Detectives, will be joining their pals the Kaiser Chiefs once again. Tagged as “the band most likely to leap to the main stage in 2007” by NME, they are doing just that as they head to Hyde Park for the O2 Wireless Festival. Joining them will be indie-rockers Mumm-Ra, Los Campesinos, You Say Party We Say Die and Under the Influence of Giants.
Last up, on June 17th will be the highly acclaimed Klaxons. Having headlined the NME Awards Indie Rave Tour the London based lads are sure to get the crowds raving.
Now in its third year the O2 Wireless Festival has firmly stamped its mark on the festival map. Last year saw the launch of the festival in Leeds, and both return for 2007, bringing the event back to two of the UK’s most cosmopolitan cities.
And if that wasn’t enough, look what else we’ve got lined-up for you…
The O2 Wireless Festival will have something for everybody. Not just music, but the ultimate festival experience this summer….right on your door step.
Creating a truly exciting and totally authentic live outdoor music atmosphere four stages will be erected at London’s Hyde Park, along with the original acoustic band stand allowing people to pull up a deck chair and chill out to the melodic sounds.
But it’s not just about the music, with a thrilling fairground, chill out areas, street theatre, performance art, markets, world food caterers and a five aside football pitch, the O2 Wireless Festival 2007 goes the extra mile and offers the music lovers the opportunity to enjoy the very best of the festival experience, plus much more.
Going out of their way to make life easy for Londoners, festival organisers have also arranged secure lockers that can be booked in advance. These ensure that locals can jump off the tube, pop their valuables in a locker and leave the day behind them, as they enjoy this fantastic 4 day festival.
Extra special treats are also in store for O2 customers and their friends, courtesy of the O2 blueroom. Simply by texting WIRELESS to 60602, O2 customers will get exclusive access to the O2 blueroom and enjoy their own private stage where the hottest undiscovered bands will be playing everyday.
And if it’s all too much for them, O2 music fans can simply put their feet up in the O2 blueroom and enjoy a drink, whilst receiving an array of healing treatments from Reiki and Kinesiology to relaxing foot and head massages.
“The O2 Wireless Festival goes from strength to strength and this year’s line-up further cements its reputation as one of the UK’s top music events. We’re proud to have been involved since the start and seen it flourish over the past three years,” said Sally Cowdry, marketing director, O2 UK. “Once again, O2 customers will be able to benefit from an enhanced Festival experience, including advanced access to tickets, special areas on site and lots more. With the O2 Wireless Festival and the opening of The O2, music lovers are in store for a treat this summer.”
With Channel 4 and XFM broadcasting highlights from the event, the
O2 Wireless Festival looks all set to be both London and Leeds’ live summer music event of the year.
