Nick Cave's side project Grinderman have unveiled details of a new single.
'(I Don't Need You To) Set Me Free' will be released on April 30 as a one-side limited edition numbered 7″ and download.
Speaking about the track, lifted from the band's recently released self-titled debut LP, Cave said: “I was trying to find a way into what I wanted the lyrics to be concerned with. I was listening to John Lee Hooker and I heard these lines buried deep in one of his songs.”
The band make their live debut at this year's All Tomorrow Parties Festival over the weekend of April 27-29, curated by The Dirty Three.
Grinderman is a garage rock band formed by Nick Cave (vocals, electric guitar, organ, piano), Warren Ellis (electric bouzouki, Fendocastor, violin, viola, acoustic guitar, backing vocals), Martyn P. Casey (bass, acoustic guitar, backing vocals) and Jim Sclavunos (drums, percussion, backing vocals); all members of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.
