The Pop Factory in Porth plan to show their support for the Burberry workers and their families with a star-studded concert at the Ystrad Rhondda Leisure Centre on March 24th, just six days prior to the planned closure of the factory.
Top Welsh rock artistes, including chart-toppers The Automatic, Gruff Rhys from The Super Furry Animals, Goldie Lookin’ Chain and Welsh legends, The Alarm, are amongst the first big names to commit to playing at the event, and organisers are hoping to confirm other top names shortly.
The planned closure of the factory has drawn wide condemnation from many with celebraties such as Sir Tom Jones, actors Rhys Ifans, Ioan Gruffudd and Emma Thompson, Morrisey, Charlotte Church, Max Boyce, Bryn Terfel, Bloc Party and even Borat, Sacha Baron Cohen’s adding their names to the petition.
Ticket news for the event will be released shortly along with other top names from the Welsh music scene. For further information contact: Joe O’Neil PR The Welsh Office 01269 595998/07831 482177
