In support of C.A.L.M (Campaign Against Living Miserably) and in memory of one of Liverpool’s best musical talents Paul Bowness, the Carling Academy will play host to a special one-off gig headlined by the prolific Liverpool rock band and songwriters, The Real People.
A year ago Paul Bowness, a 6’5” larger than life champion kick boxer sadly committed suicide aged only 32 after suffering a number of personal problems. Following this unexpected tragedy the Real People have decided to put together this fantastic event to celebrate Paul’s life, to raise awareness of C.A.L.M and help other young men. Paul was an extremely loved character and was well known throughout the music industry; Liam Gallagher, Ocean Colour Scene and Paul Weller were among those offering their messages of condolences.
Other bands on this bill at the Carling Academy are The Sums, The Same, Holden and Kuki.
The gig will take place at the Carling Academy on Saturday 18th November. £6.50 advance tickets or £8 on the door. Doors @ 7pm.
For advance tickets call the Carling Academy or visit link.
‘Music was one of the most important things in Pauls life and this is the way we want to remember him and celebrate what a fantastic musician and person he was. We will be celebrating his life and would appreciate any support for this gig.’ Tony Griffiths, Real People.
