Hove-based indie wanderers Clearlake will release their latest single It's Getting Light Outside on Domino on July 24. The closing track on new album Amber, the song is described by frontman Jason Pegg as “a platonic love song” and features characteristically idiosyncratic production including tom-toms and a cinematic string section. Following their entry onto the UK underground scene in 2001, Clearlake have earned a reputation for producing unpredictable yet accessible guitar pop, drawing from influences as diverse as Talk Talk, the Shangri-Las and Van Der Graaf Generator, and Amber could mark their breakthrough to a wider audience. To promote the release of the album and It's Getting Light Outside, Clearlake will also play the Islington Academy for the Tiscali Showcase on July 14. More information is available at link and link.
