Go North is to reveal the line up for this year's event at a special media launch in Edinburgh on Thursday (March 30), hosted by scene night, Born To Be Wide, at Edinburgh bar The Street (2a Picardy Place).
The media launch will take place from 8pm-9pm and will reveal other details of this year's event. Following the launch, goNorth organisers Shaun Arnold and Caroline McLeod will take to the decks to play their all time favouriterecords.
Also getting into some self-indulgent Djing will be Aberdonian band
Hookers Green No1.
Born To Be Wide was launched over two years ago to provide a meeting point for those involved in the Edinburgh music and arts scene. Each fortnight it invites bands, labels workers, music journalists, and promoters to do a self-indulgent DJ set.
Commenting on the launch, goNorth's Shaun Arnold says:
“With the Scottish Arts Council, the parliament and a lot of media based in Edinburgh, we thought Born To Be Wide would be an ideal opportunity to unveil this year's line up.”
Born To Be Wide co-organiser, and goNorth advisor, Olaf Furniss adds,
“We never know what our guests are going to play and it is always intriguing to hear what those who choose bands in their job, choose from their recordcollection.
Shaun has a suspiciously encyclopaedic knowledge of 80s metal,
so it should be an interesting night!”
