Yet another top Leeds band have signed a high flying deal. Further highlighting the quality and diverse mix of fine music Leeds has to offer.
The latest is our pals Jack Afro. Having recently supported Babyshambles, their ramshackle fine little ditties have been noticed by Sony.
Jack Afro have signed a deal with Sony's latest indie label 1965 Records, Their debut single 'Take Me Home' is expected to be released in Mid May. The single will also include quality tracks “Town Street” and “Just Leave”. It will be available on limited edition (1,000 copies) 7″ vinyl and download formats.
Also get down to the Corn Exchange, Leeds on Sunday, 2nd April where Jack Afro will be shooting the video for “Take Me Home” and are looking for anyone that is interested in appearing as an extra to meet outside the Corn Exchange in Leeds shortly at 9am.
On 29th March Jack Afro will play live at the London launch for 1965 Records, which is headed up by James Endeacott (The Libertines, The Strokes), whilst the label's marketing and distribution will be via the Columbia Label Group.
The band were scheduled to play Glasswerk's Baby Academy at The vine this Thurs 30/03/06 but due to their recent success down in London have had to pull out, we look forward to seeing them in a future Glasswerk presentation.
Well Done Fellas!
