Soledad Brothers Coming Back to The U.K.

Detroit blues revolutionaries launch
new album with UK live dates:

Soledad Brothers are soon to bring their blistering live show to the UK with a string of dates in February, just a few days before the release of their new album, The Hardest Walk, on 6th March 2006.

The tour will call at Birmingham, Glasgow, Newcastle and York before the group's 27th February date at London¹s Barfly. The trio, comprising JohnnyWalker, Oliver Henry and Ben Swank, have a reputation for volatile gigs as their driving blues regularly push the assembled congregation over the edge.

The band are part of a great American musical tradition that challenges the establishment through their vocal power and energy, but The Hardest Walk is the Soledad¹s most personal work to date. Walker paints a painful picture of emotional betrayal, despair and anger after the bitter break-up with his girlfriend became the inspiration behind the concept of The Hardest Walk.

The single, Good Feeling, will be released on February 20th look out for
the video soon. The live dates in February are:

22 Birmingham Barfly
23 Glasgow Nice N Sleazy
24 Newcastle Cluny
25 York Fibbers
27 London Barfly

BIOG…

This record is about being stuck in the ninth circle of hell with all the
people who have ever knowingly betrayed you. It¹s about looking them in the
eye and saying, know what you did and I¹m never going to forget it.
This is the voice of Johnny Walker, doctor, anarchist and chief spokesman for Detroit's most radical blues collective, The Soledad Brothers.

The record he's talking about is The Hardest Walk – the band's latest and
greatest studio record on Loog.
A brutal break-up letter, detailing the collapse of Walker's long-termrelationship, it ranks alongside such similarly-themed albums as Marvin Gaye's Here, My Dear and Spiritualized's
Ladies And Gentlemen, We're Floating In Space.

If previously the politics the band have been dealing with have emanated from the radical roots of the Black Panthers (the band use that organization's logo as their own), then this time it's a much more
personalized affair.

One listen to the raw emotion of tracks like Crooked Crown and Truth Or Consequences (sample lyric: You're going to go so
thirsty little girl/ You're going to choke down on your shame) is more than
enough to confirm that.
