SXSW: WEST YORKSHIRE RECORD LABELS PROMOTIONAL SHOWCASE CD
Theme: West Yorkshire record labels releasing West Yorkshire artists.
Working in collaboration with the UKTI/Yorkshire Forward, TMP to attend the SXSW Conference, Austin, USA to promote the region's music industry via discussion groups and CD sampler. The project follows on from the positive impact of the Social Enterprises's 'Sounds From A Big Town' compilation and annual Timeless Festival.
The Timeless Music Project was set up in 2004 by independent label Chocolate Fireguard Records with the objective of promoting, supporting and drawing attention initially to Huddersfield’s vibrant music scene (and also music from the area’s European twin town partners) through the delivery of specific, targeted projects. These projects include the popular annual Timeless Music Festival (‘pick of the week’ Guardian Guide’ two years running). Recently TMP has also started working within the wider area of West Yorkshire and to coincide with this year’s (next week's) SXSW festival (Austin, Texas) has collaborated with UK Trade and Investment/Yorkshire Forward to produce this special promotional sampler of West Yorkshire independent record labels to help draw attention to the region’s diverse music scene.
