72 bands initially entered the Battle of the Bands competition hosted by The Fountain in North London, and over several months this number was whittled down to just 4.
REB kicked off a late-night show which did not start until gone half nine, and were able to sit back and relax as three other bands played after them. Despite several technical glitches a strong performance was given, to the delight of a very strong Red Eye following.
It was not until the early hours that the judges' decision was made, and Red Eye Banquet were announced as winners, while another Glasswerk band Obscura, came second.
