The Sunshine Underground

That time of year again when we are looking to see what bands will be big in the new year. We have got to mention Leeds based band The Sunshine Underground. After a monumental gig on New Years Eve at The Faversham (Leeds) and the band set to go on tour, you must get out to see them. There are rare moments as an editor when you play a demo or here a band that really jumps out and excites you. The Arctic Moneys had this effect on me last year. As far as 2006 goes, listening to The Sunshine Underground’s new single ‘Commercial Breakdown’ will make you wet your pants with excitement.

A fusion of dance filled punk pop that comes straight out of Forward Russia territory. Full of venom and in your face with a guitar raucous, we finally have ‘av it’ music back in Britain.

Commercial Breakdown’ will be released 16th January 2006 on Cd and 7’’ Vinyl

I urge you all to pop along to one of the gigs below:

Jan 16 The Barfly, Cardiff
Jan 17 The Barfly, Birmingham
Jan 18, The Barfly, Liverpool
Jan 19, The Barfly, London
Jan 20, The Cockpit, Leeds
Jan 24, The Barfly, York
Jan 25, The Barfly, Glasgow
Jan 26, High Voltage, Manchester
Feb 1, The Social, Nottingham
Feb 2, Digital, Newcastle
Feb 3, Club Metropolis, Bristol,
