Support: Evening- THE LITTLE FLAMES, Matinee- To be confirmed.
The Zutons have taken time out from the recording studio to give their hometown a double whammy, Boxing Day Extravaganza!
The evening show is completely SOLD OUT! But fear not, as they have added a matinee show, which starts @ 1pm until 5pm. Although I’m not a fan of small people (of the teenage kind!), I suppose it’s only fair the little toe-rags, get a piece of the action (it is Xmas after all). However can I stress that all under 16’s need to be accompanied by an adult to gain entry into the venue (ticket or not)!
The Zutons have received endless success in 2004, being nominated for the Mercury Music Prize for their debut album “Who Killed the Zutons”, receiving rave reviews for their live/festival appearances. Oh, and lets not forget their track “Confusion” featured in a high profile car advert; which pelted them even further into the mainstream.
However, if you have been living on planet Pluto and are not yet familiar with The Zutons sound, expect Jazz crossed with Funk, Soul combined with Country and so much more! This band is distinct and original, and after hearing them once, you won’t mistake them again!
In the words of Dave McCabe himself “It was singles PRESSURE POINT, and YOU WILL YOU WON’T, that really nailed our sound”. If you are quick and lucky enough to snap up a ticket for this show, and witness the “Huyton Foursome” at their best, by the end of the night- You Will Believe in Father Xmas!
I, for one will be there, dancing off my numerous mice pies, how better to deal with a post Xmas hangover!”
