On the 28th of December 2005, Glasswerk Leeds will be having a right old knees up by showing a selection of Leeds finest bands of 2005. Down at the legendary Josephs Well, Leeds, the night will see The Somatics, The Smokestacks, The Acutes and The Humour!
The Somatics
The dark marauders of sheer brilliance. Echoing and spine tingling sounds. Heart felt tunes with true meaning. A joy to behold and a must see. Psychedelic music that finds itself being compared to The Velvet Underground. One cannot stress how important this band are! Bruce-Drums, Richard – Guitar & Vox, Stephanie – Bass and Vox
The Smokestacks
Chilli Pepper esq inventiveness and fun loving baggy trouser music here. Soulful music that’s full of good vibrations with a bit of good old rock n roll to boot. Billy Gray – guitar and vox, Joel Gellard – guitar and vox, Ben 'THE SCENE' Grey – korg synthesiser, Owen Spence – bass guitar, Tom Blyth – drums
The Acutes
This two piece are no strangers on the Leeds circuit. One of Glasswerk’s favourites of 2005, superb drumming and addictive vocals that helped the lads scoop a mention in the NME. Dave Kichen – Guitar & Vox, Matthew Shallcross (drum kit).
The Humour
A rocket out of Wakefield these boys have energy to match any outfit, recently fresh from supporting The Glitterati. These boys have already established a loyal following and will certainly add some spice to the night. James Taylor (vocals) Matthew Bagley (lead guitar) Jason Drury (bass) Danny Fahy(drums, percussion).
A night surly not to be missed! Whilst your recovering from your fill of mince pies make sure you add this night of fine merriment and top notch music to your plans. Topping off 2005 get down Josephs Well to celebrate and thank local music 2005.
