Almost there. The Tantalising carrot is just out of reach. The sensory excess and musical fastidiousness will shortly be upon us. Seventy Five bands from here, there and everywhere are descending upon the fine city of Manchester to play at your convenience @ the fabled Dry Bar. From the 30th September to the 3rd October the biggest fringe event since the last big fringe event (which incidentally was Glasswerk In The City 2004) is here. So many bands, such little time. How will it all fit in? Magic, magic is what it is. The magic of turning around and seeing some of the established glitterati on stage rocking to their hearts delight and then wandering to the next stage and making the find of the century with the next new thing in town. The ethos? Mirroring the official ITC propaganda it’s about finding and breaking new bands – but also about having a jolly old knees up and putting together a festival of clear, unbridled exuberance. This is music. This is where it is.
